Animal attacked my Rouen...not sure what to do.

You know we're all here for you and your girl.

Only concern about releasing her too soon is the drakes and her being scabbed over. If they climb on they can reopen and then your back to square one. I'd just hang in there till next week and see how she is doing. No one likes to be confined to a hospital but sometimes for our own good we have to so we can heal properly.

My friend bailed on me. She will be alone for 24+ hours. I am thinking about leaving her in the outdoor pen with door to porch open.

Let me know your opinions...

It looks like a good place what about predators do you get them that close to your home? Anyone going to be there to watch out for her and the rest? I think she'd be fine in there as long as nothing comes around.

I have really good security system and cameras to watch over them. This is a beck porch and we have never had a predator come up to the pool. Now I said never.

This is all I got. I did my best. My son graduates from college at 18. So I can not miss this trip, lol.

If she is confined in the porch I am worried it is to small for 24 hours and her. She will hurt herself trying to get out. She was trying to get out by the time I got to her to let her out. 6am and she was climbing the walls because she could hear them muddling.

My ducks are basically semi wild, scared poopy but semi wild. She is strong enough. She eats and muddles. I know she is ready. Her wound looks amazing 1 Week and 1 day.

If she survives the night and half day tomorrow, I am thinking about release her and give her quality of life back. She will gain weight quickly out there, all they do is eat...

A few pictures, some good some, eh..

Let Me Out

If I could miss it, I would miss it.

I took on livestock knowing that I'd become attached. This taught me a good lesson. Actually, several lessons...

I'm just glad I can drive it...We can be home as soon as noon tomorrow. I will update with pics from cam tomorrow and let you all know how she did.

During the night, no news is good news, as my uncle says...

If you have her outside I'd keep in mind that if it's warm enough that she could end up getting attacked by maggots.

Thank you. That is s very good point for anyone. Make sure the wound is dry scabbed over for a couple days, or watch her like a hawk...like me and let her out a little as soon as the scab sets. You can always bring them back inside.

Thank you for that advice! :)
