Animal Control question

Here in NH they not only won't tell you if someone made a complaint, but they usually say something like "We were just driving by in the neighborhood and saw/heard..." They try to make it look like no one but them was actually involved in the complaint.

Thanks everyone!

I was hoping it would be a straight forward 'No, they cant.' LOL

My dear AC did tell and I had to spend 30 minutes bickering with my neighbor last evening....gah!

Oh fun...

Our neighbor threatened us with bodily injury after we complained to his wife about their dogs' incessant barking. We decided it was easier for us if AC/PD just got called each and every time we had a complaint about the noise. Several fines later and the threat of losing their animals in court quieted the little buggers down.

Sorry your neighbors suck.

Sometimes there is no way around it..........how do you come out to investigate a complaint, especially about animal cruelty, without admitting there was a complain. VERY OFTEN, the animal control doesn't tell them......but they guess correctly or claim AC confirmed it. It's not rocket science....if you are fighting with your neighbor and someone makes a complaint about them, its not hard to guess who made it.

People used to claim all the time that we had told them who complained. We didn't. But they already "knew" who would have done it and would lie and say AC told them and then the people would usually admit it.

My husband is the director for animal control in our county. Has been for 20+ years now. We have the highest adoption rate in the state and the lowest adoption fees. Around $15-$20 to adopt and the animal is fixed for free. He was able to raise enough donation money to build a surgery room and they have their own vet now to fix the animals and take care of the medical needs.

They also do not give out information on complaints, but not sure if it is the same everywhere.
