Anniversary and member # question

How come my member # and anniversary # don't match? Example, my anniversary # is 240 by dates, and my member join # is 3800 by dates. Shouldn't there be 3800 members with a 4 year anniversary ahead of me?

It's not a big deal, but I just wanted to know why.

Perhaps it was because there was an old website, and the members from there were loaded to this site all on one day.

It could also be affected by people who were deleted---ie: folks who got a login name, and never came back.

Good question! It's because of a few reasons, but mostly because of deleted spammer accounts.
