Another 1st timer wondering about gender

Hi all - I am so appreciative of all of those experiences chicken owners helping us navigate through chicken ownership! We also have 4 chicks we bought at 2 days old from the Wagon Train. Not concerned about my Ameraucana girls. But just wanting to double check our Australop (Hermoine) and Buff (Patricia) see photos. They are 8.5 weeks old. It’s raining so they are in their run, I apologize if that makes it hard to tell.

I am not so convinced they are cockerels.
My oopster black Australorp was WAY more red in wattles and had a much bigger redder comb at 8 weeks.

Time will surely tell too.

It's much easier when there are same breed pullets to compare!
I'm still guessing, so more pictures in two or three weeks will help.

I think they're pullets. I feel like the comb would be taller by now. I could be wrong though.

Another 2 weeks will still be a bit early.....at 12 weeks I find it very clear.....but to be 100% sure well that takes waiting for a crow or egg.

usually you can tell with larger, and very red combs and wattles by now. These guys have me on the fence. I'd give it a couple more weeks and take more pics and post them. For certain, you'd know starting around 12 weeks... that's when chickens start growing their saddle feathers. Males will have very pointed saddle feathers, where pullets will have rounded fluffy ones.
