Another Araucana cockerel?

Just break the bad news to me, please lol …it looks like I’m 3 for 3 with my Araucana chicks being cockerels, but maybe there’s hope with this one? Its comb isn’t “quite” as big as one hatched the same day, but could just be genetics. This one is a couple days shy of 5 weeks

Too, especially if you're planning on breeding/selling your blue egg layers- what you have is an Easter Egger.

There's two blue egg laying pure breeds with similar names- Araucana (rumpless) and Ameraucana (there's a breed standard).

Virtually all of the rest of us have Easter Eggers, sometimes confusingly called Americanas by hatcheries. They're pretty mutts and while most used to have muffs/beards, with the increased availability of crested blue eggers- they can be pretty much any color, pattern, and feathering.

EEs are among my very favorite types of chickens, and folks love the blue and green eggs especially if you're selling fresh eggs.

I wrote blu Araucana because it will have blu legs and feathers, not because of blu eggs.
