Lucky I have someone willing to take a rooster.

I'm new to this too but I've got to tell you that I have a BR too and she is 9 weeks old. Her comb is maybe 1/4 t0 1/2 the size of your's and her wattles aren't visible yet. Sorry

But, I guess in the chicken world "it's not over till the fat, cockerel crows".

I lived in the "denial phase" with my favorite Polish. Then the crowing started -- very quickly and very loudly. It took me three days to find a home, and each one of those mornings at about 5 a.m. I was racing outside to shut him up.

What about saddle feather? can you tell from these pictures if they are boy/girls? Sorry for the bad pics!!!

Barred Rock about 6 or 7 weeksBuff orp about 6 - 8 weeks Pretty sure this is a hen!!! Barred Rock Mix??? almost 5 weeksRIR about 6 - 7 weeks

All of these chicks are too young to have saddle feathers. Those come in roughly around 3 months (12 weeks). We'd need shots of the rest of the bodies to tell sex on those chicks.

This is our first experience with chickens... and it has been interesting and they are so fun to watch. We have a barred rock that is in question of if it is a she or a he.. We have named her Betty and gets along with the rest of the gang which consists of 4 australorps, 3 guienia hens and 3 other barred rocks.... Betty and the rest of the gang is just 3 months old....

saddle and hackel feathers this is a cockerel
