what I would do is set a trap with chicken meat in it and most likely you will catch the culprit.

I was hoping the same thing. I am going with it's a hawk because she disappeared in the middle of the day. She is the underdog and is always hiding in the bushes. I have spent 2 days checking every bush in the yard and cruised the empty lots that surround us and found nothing. First one disappeared the same way.
