Another chicken victory!! Texas town removes ordinance.....

This woman contacted us recently regarding our experience with convincing our town to allow chickens... I do not know if she is a BYC member or not...

In any case, she convinced her town to totally remove an ordinance that would have restricted backyard flocks to 8 hens + 1 rooster. Yay!

I could not open the article, but hooray! I never did understand why chickens, especially if only hens, are not allowed in some places. I have been lucky to have always lived in places where I could have chickens, since the 60's! Well a couple of times I did live in town, and did not have chickens but was unaware if I was able to or not. Besides roosters crowing, why are hens banned?
