Another dog attack!

I think you should call and have them issue a citation. Sounds like their dog is running amok and having a formal record of that behavior could be very useful if this keeps happening.

After my incident yesterday with loosing 4 of my girls. I did some research of our state laws and dog owners. One thing I found interesting is that if a dog is free and continually does damage, with 20 people and a signed petition to the Legislation the owner will have to pay a 50,000 bond or can also be in the form of insurance, and it would be labled a Nuicence Dog. There's more to it. You may want to check what your state laws are. We live in Pa and there's quite a bit of dog laws. I did a quick search in Yahoo and found lots. Good Luck.

Use a ball bearing in a sling shot. But be sure to hit him in the back side, you wouldn't want to put an eye out or kill him. (yeah right) Better yet shoot the owner.

I'm so glad your hen is Ok.

You definately need to address the 'at loose' dog issue with the proper authorities. This dog sounds like it could cause real problems (in my opinion it already is by attacking your chickens) sooner than later; having several people (if possible) make legal complaints will help enourmously in the future if things get even more out of hand.

We had a neighbors new puppy (a German Shorthair - hunting dog) come over and start to chase my llamas around a few weeks ago. I sent my son out with his paintball gun. It high tailed it home and thus far hasn't come back. I'm fortunate that, when I called my neighbor (as the dog was running home) she was very nice and apologetic. She gave me permission to "help" her dog home anytime it shows up over here. Because we live in the country, everyone has 40 plus acres, we all let our dogs run loose. It's rare, however, that anyone's dogs leave their own property. If you have a paintball gun to use and the dog shows up at home with pink or blue or green spots on it ... maybe the owner will think more seriously about this whole issue. And, maybe the dog will think twice before coming back to your place!

It had been a while since he had gotten in...I guess other folks had complained of him swiping food off their grills...
I had thought I had him cured over coming here because the last time he was here, I gave him a 4 seam fastball with a rock on the head.
He's been out all flippin day again...loose, running the neighbourhood. He's even taken to chasing the ice cream truck. He pushed Mike down once when he was playing with a Frisbee, because he wanted to play with it...Danged thing has no training what so ever!
Penny and Obelisk don't want to go out unless I'm there with them. Not that I blame them.
