Another Egg Question

Just my best guess, but what ever you are doing or not doing for the birds that are not laying.....stop doing, or not doing it. Expose them to the same conditions that the group that is laying!

Then get back to me, and I will try to figure out if it's some sort of silly light color thing, or maybe the egg stealer from the 8th dimension.

Doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result is insanity. Also looking up your golden's poop shuts is always on the table....you may have a pack of roos...I just don't know.

mo: I have to echo joe's concept here. I'd like to add that after bringing my girls inside12/10 and having them at a good temp, light, etc. ; they started laying again 12/29. Oh ya - I handled the wait very well (not).

If you know that the conditions are optimal, then the thing preventing you from getting the results you want must be the variable - the birds. Create the best environment, which you know how to do and wait. Once you have adjusted all of the factors under your control, your hands are tied. Remember, every time you change something, you potentially reset the adjustment period to day 1. Just my 2 cents......

joe: The definition of insanity - Who said that? I remember hearing it from my father many years ago........

If they are close to a year they may just be spent. I would have to pretty much agree with joe, the sex change expanation is very rare, it shouldn't be forgotten, but I wouldn't explain a whole pen of hens not laying.
