First one of my EEs laid their first egg on Christmas Eve... after the first week of on again, off again laying I've been getting an egg a day. Yesterday I went out to clean the coop and what a fantastic surprise - it appears one of my Japanese Banty girls are laying. Whoever did it must have had some trouble with it because blood covered the egg. I won't eat the first one she laid (I saved the first two from my mystery EE girl - see [picture below), but I cleaned it up for it's first photo op... can you tell the difference?
The only thing to add is I thought the bantam's egg would be much smaller... so either I've got a jumbo egg laying banty, or another EE is laying and she's laying small.
