People on Facebook are typically morons when it comes to chickens. Most EE's have beards. It has zero to do with sex.

I can vouch for this. In my local Facebook group whenever a breed or gender question is asked I swear more people are wrong than right. Every once in a while when I can't keep my mouth shut and comment the correct answer, people will disagree and it's just not even worth fighting back. I always assume that they'll figure it out eventually and won't listen anyways. The only correlation that I can think of for beards and gender is that they inhibit wattle growth in both genders which can potentially make sexing a bit trickier. This is mostly an issue in Polish though
