I've read everything I can find on line, but have not answered this question.

After breeding can my buck togg live with the bred does?

Thanks

Most people choose not to the the buck live with the breed females.

Males can be pushy and I have heard that they can cause the doe to miscarry by being over aggressive.

It would be fine to do this until the last month of pregnancy, when the does give off a hormone which smells similar to estrus to the bucks. This harassment is bad for doe and fetus, so do remove them to a kidding area about a month before hand.

Bucks are not aggressive or pushy with does any more than other does are!

thank you. I plan on breeding as late in fall as possible. I was hoping the buckling could cozy in with the girls to keep warm all winter. I'll pull him out for the last month.

I assume it's okay to leave the 2 does together. They don't like to be apart at all.

I tend to separate the does for the actual kidding part, but I do have a couple who will have NO PART of being alone, so I couple them in the kidding stall with their best friend or a very quiet doe who won't get in the way. With only two does, they should be fine kidding together, just keep an eye on the newborns to make sure their aunties don't beat them up (newborns often will try to nurse any udder they can find, which other does oft take offense to).

My billies and does/doelings are reintroduced sometime during July. I move all my does inside in november to kid. My billies stay with them until the first one kids...usually late november or early december...once the kid parade starts the billys become to much of a pain to deal with everyday as well as the added danger for the newborn kids...My billies only pay attention to themselves and are oblivious to the world around. They are then seperated but kept inside until the weather breaks, maybe March/April then they move outside to a fresh pasture to wait for their girlfriends to join them, again in June/July. So I guess for 7 months they are all together the other 5 months they are seperate.

I would dare guess that everyone, that manages a herd of any size, has their own schedule which makes for the least amount of added work with the most safe conditions for their animals...
I always feel more comfortable when the billies are with the does...They could be the only line of defense if a dog or coyote would happen into the barn/pasture.
