Another Grit queation.

I am still confused about grit. How long do they keep grit in their crop? I assume it eventually passes through their GI system but how long does it last in their crop? Thanks

It stays in their crop for awhile. For chicks, just sprinkle a little chick grit onto their food every 1 - 2 times you fill it. The grit stays in the gizzard for awhile and helps grind. I'm not sure how long it stays in the gizzard before being excreted - that might even vary with age/size of the bird.
