I believe the lighter one may be a male. I have a chick with a similar pattern and I was told the red leakage is a male specific color pattern. I'm not sure if where the red shows up is a determining factor or not. Here's some pictures of mine, for reference:

Tail feathers don't mean anything, however spotty red patches on wings and shoulders do.
