Another Humidity question

I just take a sandwich size Tupperware and fill with water and add a sponge. The sponge increases the surface area and increases the humidity. Then I usually put some rubber carpet pad (no slip kind that has holes) over it so the babies can't drown in lockdown. You can add a second container if you need more humidity.

Hey Mike32, Good luck with your humidity issues.

I'm interested in homemade incubators because I'm working on making two of them right now out of 2 small dorm fridges. Got all the refrigeration stuff out of them today and will probably get windows put in the doors tomorrow. Looking into the stuff needed to heat and control temps. Did you make your incubator? Got any good tips? I'd love to see a picture of it if you are able to put one up. It is interesting to see what other people have done.

Just a suggestion. I use a half pint mason jar of water with a sponge in it. It gets the humidity up without the sponge drying out. I do check the water level in the mason jar and fill as needed. You can use a larger mason jar with a larger sponge. I also have a cabinet incubator.
