Another incubator! **PIC HEAVY**

Well I do know how it is to have to build with what you have. My first incubator was a cooler heated by a car tail light bulb an powered by a battery. I used an old round house thermostat that until then was still on the wall. I still think it was my best.

It wasn't gooey.. It was a pictur that was actually *painted* on the glass...

You'd be surprised what you can use vinegar for!!! Fabric softner in laundry, dishwasher rinse, mopping, there are so many things. I make my own laundry soap and dishwashing soap. laundry cost me like 3.00 for 10 gallons, alot less on dishwashing.

You need to send me those recipes!!!!

Wow!! I didn't realize tail lights emitted that much heat!! Hey, we do what we gotta do, right?? As long as I have *something* to work with, I will make it work one way or the other!! Heck.. You should see my chicken feeder... LOL an old screw top plastic jar with a funnel on the inside, holes in the bottom the the jar and screwed into a lid from a plastic bowl.. But, the chickens seem to think it's good!! Oh... And the brooder?? Just an old rabbit cage with 2 "nesting" spaces (can also be used if I need to quarantine) that I can put a light in!! And the "coop" is just a 6x10 dog run against the shed with some nesting boxes and roosts.. Definitely nothing fancy at my house..

I make the soap for my mother in law also...I put it to the test also before we stuck with using it all the time...so like I said back to basic, the simple life.

That's what we are trying to do.. Get back to the basics.. Not having to rely on others so much (stores, gov't, etc.) That's why my name is Green Goddess... Has nothing to do with environment.. Has everything to do with living off the land and being more self sufficient.. That's why we got chickens in the first place.. For eggs... Even planted a garden this year.. And trying to come up with the materials to build a windmill/battery bank to replace the electric company, a well to replace the water company and whatever else we can think of to make living much more simple... We want to know that if things get *really* bad in the world, we will be able to survive off what the land offers..

OMG Rebel!! that is Awesome!!!! I don't feel so bad now... It looks even funnier in my yard when I have clothes hanging up all over the yard (from the shed, coop, truck, railings, extra rolls of fencing, etc.).. My yard REALLY looks interersting!! But, I don't want the extra expense on my electric bill from a dryer.. LOL I just wish i had a wash board and ringer...
