Ok.. I just set them.. I wanted my son to help me so I decided to do it early but seems a fly got into the bator when I opened it, he put one egg in and he was done.. Went to chase the fly.. ROFL!! Sorry, he has his own issues that we have to deal with.. But, I went ahead and put all the eggs in the ghetto-bator.. Here are the pics I promised.. Forgive the brown eggs.. We are doing a "science project" and those are store bought eggs for our "control eggs" to see what happens to an egg that is not fertilized.. They are just store brand grade A eggs.. So, I know they are not fertile.. Besides.. I needed 4 more eggs to even the weight out.. LOL So, here they are..

This is right after I opened the box.. They were so well packed!

And here they are in my ghetto-bator with my ghetto-turner

I tried getting a picture of them as i candled but unfortunately the hole is not perfectly round on my ghetto-candler so light was shining through and that's all you could see... Sorry about that... No cracks or anything major but I did notice on 4 or 5 of them that the air cells moved around a bit.. But all the eggs are small side down so hopefully that won't be an issue...

Eggies!!!! It maybe a Ghetto Bator...the "GB"....

INSTEAD of the LG....but if it works...the heck, IT WORKS...Im also making a GB...hope to get it up and running soon....keep you posted...

I did find one thing bad.. At night because my house does not stay one temp because we have no central air (just 3 ac units throughout the house) and DH likes to keep them all on 70, it gets warm during the day but then at night it gets chilly.. So, the GB don't warm up fast and tends to lose heat quickly.. So, I insulated the GB for nighttime and then just take the insulation off in the morning.. which seems to be working.. But also, if i open the BG, WOW!! Heat gone! Poof! So, because i hadn't even thought of this before I set the eggs at night when it's the coolest in the house, the temp was down to 94 when i put the eggs in and rising ever sooooooo ssssssllllllllooooooowwwwwwlllllllyyyyyyy..... LOL... So what I did was got my hair dryer out and put just a little bit of warm air back in there... The temp has leveled out and is now at a nice comfortable 100.2 and the humidity is 42... Sooooo... we shall see what happens!!

ohhhh yikes!!!! what are you going to do while your sleeping!!!! you can lose your hatch like this...hmmm this also means you might not want to candle at 7-10days or you will lose alot of heat/humidity...and its GB...BG...

she is the inventor of this...and she got the name wrong....

your gonna have to keep me posted...since Im making a GB also...exactly like yours...hmmmmmm
