Another infected eyeball

From my mom this morning:
Eye is much better. It is draining and drainage is loose. Flushed it out and applied more ointment.

Before (1st photo) and after (2nd & 3rd) attempted cleaning. Didn't get as much out. The drainage smells absolutely FOUL. I can squeeze mucus out of the nostril of the affected side.

She'll start trimeth/sulfa tomorrow.

She really seems to need the antibiotics.
Agreed.

Will update again Christmas when I visit again. I told my mom the cavity is conveniently q-tip size, so I put a saline soaked one in it for the soak/compress after initial rinse. My mom has kept with cleaning and ointment the eye twice daily, or at least once if she missed to morning due to work.

I didn't get to handle her, but this was the chicken yesterday on her 5th day of the recommended antibiotics.

Definitely less swollen. I noticed bubbles in both eyes. I have my mom my expired Rooster Booster electrolyte powder to give her after the antibiotics (not ideal being expired, but better than nothing).

Edited to add the other two medicines my chicken friend gave me in case I should follow up with something else after the Trimeth/Sulfa.
