Of course adding hideys and branches reduces the square footage of a pen. So if you add these things to a pen, you might have to scale back on the amount of birds kept in this same space.
But all this being said, all birds will benefit mentally, having a more natural environment and it will impact their health, production and might add years to their lives. Quail never lose that need for nature and adding this type of thing will make happier, healthier quail.
