ANOTHER lamb! New pics page 2, plus interior pics of the suite.

Hi,

One of the sheep that is our field gave birth yesterday morning. She had 2, however a few hours later a third was born, but was rejected and is being hand raised by the sheep's owners.

I thought I would like to share some pictures of the newborns which I took earlier today. There are still some pregnant ewes, one of which is due any day now, and the others not for a little while

i too love the shelter. my plan is to get a sheep or two. tomorrow i'm visiting a neighbor who raises sheep so i can learn a little- i'm a complete beginner and my hope is to have milk for cheese. anywho, i've been struggling with shelter ideas and have seen more than one person use a rubbermaid storage bin! don't want to go that route. could you share some details about how your shelter is made?

It is a temporary shelter for winter/ lambing months, and is taken down at the end and the straw is put to good use with the pigs.

Basically it's hay bales, with wooden beams supporting a plastic sheet. You have a main beam going down the length of the shelter, attached at either end by rope. You then have some more beams attached by rope to the main beam. The plastic sheeting is put over the beam and attached to the hay bails with rope. It is also attached to the ground. Very simple. Then we have some metal gates at the entrance to keep them in.

I'll take some photos tomorrow for you, to see if that helps

ETA- If you look at the photo, if you look 'inside' the shelter, you will notice the beams
