Chicken with eye lid issue

My favorite chicken, Friend, has had a thickened edge around one eye for since she was a chick. I did a week of ophthalmic antibiotic but no change. It wasn’t getting worse until a few days ago when the lower lid began thickening more and swelling. Attaching photos of eye open and blinking. Anyone have experience with this?

Is she getting pecked or scratching her eye? Have you seen any signs of fowl pox?

Thank you for your reply. She is not a hen that gets picked on and I’ve not seen any fowl pix symptoms with this flock. I’ve noticed a thickening since she was about 8 weeks. I thought it was a genetic deformity of the lid after no response from antibiotics and no getting worse, until this happened.

Then I would suspect that she could be scratching her eye to cause the thickening. Did you use Terramycin eye ointment in the eye for a week or two twice a day? That is what I would do.

Thank you. I was using the ophthalmic antibiotic salve used on our pony - I don’t think it was terramycin but I will try to get that. Really appreciate your reply
