I have read almost every thread and article related to chicken lice and now im more confused then ever!!!! My 16 have lice. Some pretty bad. I dusted them all with DE a couple weeks ago. It did nothing. So what do I do now? Seven dust? There are so many opinions out there. I have no idea what to do! I dont want to poison them but i want the lice gone!

i never use that stuff. every time i get new chickens i dust them with boric acid. it kills everything on them. if they have it really bad just do it every day. you dont have to cover them with it just make a thin layer over their back and a little on the neck. blow of the powder that is on the feathers on the outside. hope i helped!

I use "dusting powder" I think it's the same ingredient as sevin. I do it once, 7 days later, 7 days after that to catch catching eggs. Repeat as long as you see lice. I've also seem people put bird into a small garbage bag with the powder, heading sticking out of course and "shake n bake" LOL. I also use dust bath with de and wood ash. And sprinkle de in coop bedding. Never ending battle lol

I put powder on their vents, under both wings and preening glad. Anywhere that's "fluffy"

so you just sprinkle it on them, down their back? Where do you get it, the boric acid?
yes just get it on the skin nice and good do this every day until its gone. make sure to change laying box hay and coop hay.
