So I've almost finished my 12 hour shift (most of which I've spent on BYC) and I got to thinking... my roo has never *completely* molted. He is from spring of 2008- so I was expecting a molt this spring. Last fall, when I aquired him, I cut his flight feathers. 8 of them in all on each side. 3 on the left side have grown back, and 4 on the right. He seems happy and healthy otherwise (except for a case of mites this spring as well as dry pox, both of which have since been resolved) Am I missing something? Is it poor nutrition? What should I expect when and if it does happen?

Thanks y'all!

I've never seen either hen or roo molt. My hens are over a year old by a couple months and I was expecting them to be molting like crazy by now. But nothing. They are loosing some feathers in their nest box/coop, but they still all look really good. I thought they looked rather funny-ugly when they went through their molt?
