(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Got our first chickens a few months ago

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

We have 13 birds altogether

(3) What breeds do you have?

1 white-crested black polish rooster, 3 "mixed banties (2 hens, 1 rooster), Salmon faverolle trio, and 6 araucana pullets

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

found BYC during desperate search for chicken info on internet

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I like to bake cakes ...unusual cakes for special occasions...


(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a stay at home mom, formerly home-schooling mom, also formerly part-time teacher of high school math at school where my kids now attend.
Family consists of DH, 3 DS, 1 DD, 1 dog, 1 cat, 5 guinea pigs, and 2 iguanas.

Youngest DS and DD are main chicken care-takers. They are very good helpers.
