I had it covered with 1” chicken wire on the inside and since the coop was my daughter’s old wooden play house it had the plastic windows.

Are you replacing all the chicken wire with 1/2" hardware cloth?

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

So sorry for your losses. You need to use hardware cloth only on all external areas of the coop. Chicken wire is useless against all predators. Build the coop like Fort Knox in that ants can barely get in.
