Hi all,
You have probably all heard this story (or a similar version) before.... but I cannot help myself and share yet another story of a newbie attempting a first hatch.
My hubby decided he wanted a duck for Christmas. But he didnt want any kind of duck that I could purchase as ducklings from a hatchery this time of year. Nope. He wanted a black Cayuga. So, I found a lovely lady on this site selling a dozen eggs and hubby made a homemade incubator. Of course, we have made all the classic rookie mistakes so far, but as of day 10, there is an embryo growing in a single egg. I had no realistic expectation of any eggs developing on our first try. So I wanted to say, wow! This is pretty darn cool!!
