Counting Chickens B4 They're Hatched
Hello! I'm here after somebody gave me some eggs this morning, and I candled them. Four appear to be fertile and growing, so I posted about my crazy little adventure here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/hatching-fertile-gift-eggs.1415140/
I have no idea what to do with chickens or chicks, and if they hatch, it's Panic Time!! If they don't, there's always next spring for chickens, and it won't take much to finish my coop. In the meantime, I'll watch my raising chickens DVD and read up on the breeds most likely to produce creamy eggs and do well in this climate.
I live in the high desert in Arizona (lots of petrified wood laying around), and have a small ranch that I plan to eventually populate with critters and chickens.
