I hope this is okay, but I am starting a second newbie post. Perhaps the first question should be are these following questions alright to post here or should I post them elsewhere?

We have a coop and starts of a flock. Overall, I am really excited and happy. There are a few areas I think may need tweaking and addressing. All part of the fun.

Coop
--any suggestions on how to install roosts on a coop where the hardware wire has made a flush surface on the inside? I could perhaps hang something suspended from the roof boards but on the sides there is little way to affix a roost.
--we need to level our coop. I would LOVE ideas, inspiration.
--We have some gaps between our roof and the wall in the hen house. They are small but I would like suggestions towards sealing these.

Flock
--How can I ensure the healthy of my flock? Yes, I understand quarantine reasoning and understand I was perhaps hasty in getting what I have so quickly. However, that is that and I need to figure out the best way to move forward. I worry a bit about salmonella and other diseases in the flock. Thankfully, I acquired one fabulous hen and a pullet from another member here (and believe my second pullet is also from a member). I acquired three hens that may not look as pretty but are very solid. All seem to be doing extremely well and look great and three are laying. The hens are picking on the pullets a bit, but they (the pullets) seem to have paired up and are content together. Where can I find a good healthy chicken program to implement?

Thank you!!

I'm not good with coops so I can't help with those quetiosns. But I can help with one of your flock questions.

--How can I ensure the healthy of my flock? Give them garlic and apple cider vinegar in the water. (The ACV should be unpasteurized and organic.) Let them roam around. Give them lots of healthy snacks and make sure they have clean food and water.Clean the coop and nests regularly and hang bouquets of fresh herbs in the coop to keep parasites and respiratory problems at bay. Welcome to BYC!

Probiotics!! The best thing you can do for your flock. Definitely stop by our coop and run construction forums for help with getting those roost bars up.

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock!
