I'd love to see a picture. Our county dump has mountains of free wood chips but I see all these awful bumble foot pictures (like the one today) and the person who rescued the 6 ducks from the hoarder farm on the forum and it freaks me out.
I'll get you a picture tomorrow. I got the wood chips from my local tree service and just loaded the run-up with about 8 inches deep or so. Every now and then, I will turn the chips with a pitchfork to help disperse the waste into the wood chips and to help speed up decomposition. The ducks also enjoy it since there are a plethora of earthworms living in the wood chips. Keeping your bedding dry IMO is essential in preventing bumblefoot in ducks, a wet sloppy run harbors all sorts of nasty stuff.
