Another ride back in time......The 70's..........

I remember mom pulling into a gas station and her telling the guy to fill er up. She would give him a 5 dollar bill and he would give her change back after he washed the windshield checked the oil, and the air pressure in the tires!

77 I graduated high school
that basement seen in the 70's show was stolen from my basement "I swear".
I hated charlies angels ,I loved country rock,k Lynyrd , the outlaws , Harry chapin, eagles ,and a myriad of bands that shaped the music of the day.
Jimmy carter was pres. I watched Nixon resign,"After he came to my hoome town to dedicate the library ".Abby hoffman said Ford was a f---ing bimbo in his playboy interview which I did a current events report on. I chose a profession in 75 and have been with it ever since.I watched 1980 roll in and the world has sprinted down hill at "16 t squared " on a continuous pace.

wearing my prom dress with my bikini under it and stealing through the gates after to sleep on the beach.. then waking up in your sleeping bag to remove your dress and noticing all the people around you laughing because you didn't wake up till 11 am . and creedence clear water revival.. proud mary, born on the bayou.. yes i had black lights in my bedroom and a janis joplin poster, my friend had a black bedroom with black lights and painted little mouse prints running all over his wall into mouse holes.. it was great.. we even painted my friends old volvo with flower and peace signs.. what a great time to live... nehru? sp. jackets and beads

Driving the car that's in my avatar. 36" bell bottoms. Two not so nice events that stand out in my mind cuz I moved to LA in 1979 were 1. the Hillside Strangler and 2. the Iranian hostage crisis. One great feeling that I will never forget was driving home from work thru Hollywood with Michael Jackson singing "Don't stop till you get enough". That song always takes me back.

Jumpsuits....I had a red cordouroy jumpsuit that zipped up the front.

Olivia Newton John

Nadia Comanechi

"patch" jean EvErYtHiNg!!

I remember girls body suits and halter tops were all the rage in 72 along with leather fringe jackets and moccasin boots. Paul revere and the raiders cherokee nation!

I had a white Schwinn bicycle that had a sneaker design on the seat, and the word 'sneaker' along the frame bar. I ♥'ed that bike so much.

Skates that were actually tennis shoes on wheels, but since they had no heel, you fell backwards easily. My sister and I would skate all over in those, wearing our little shorts that were blue with the white edging, similar to these http://vintagesurfandskateemporium.com/shop/images/website 008.JPG and shirts that looked like they were made out of 3 handkerchiefs.

Remember gauchos (bad), and jeans that tied on, and Buster Brown shoes http://cougartown.com/graphics/buster-brown.gif

The
Sonny and Cher show, the Smothers Brothers, the Barbara Mandrell Show, Cindy Brady...
The Rockford Files

and Nikes, Nikes, Nikes

Record players, even if it was a Winnie the Pooh one. Knock On Wood http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0iyhtCL4Eyg/StUzBi0NmBI/AAAAAAAAAAM/oJSvuVZuR1s/s400/Amii-Stewart.jpg

Anyone remember these dolls? http://www.dollkind.com/images/bradleydolls4.gif I have my purple one still, and I had a pink one that was a lamp. I smooshed all of their ankles playing with them so much.

Holly Hobbie dolls: http://www.dollkind.com/images/hobbie5 They went camping with us. Good sports, they were.

Anyone have one of these? My favorite toy ever: http://www.fpclub.org/images/treetots.jpg

I
had a similar yet better version of this, with a cardboard swimming pool http://tinycatpants.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/toys2.jpg

Who
didn't have some version of this? http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/droolicious/2007/12/01-07/fp-school.jpg

This
too, with the dinging cash register : http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g154/naturehouse/Toys2Remember/McDs1.jpg

Now
that I see these photos, I see we didn't have a lot of the accompanying pieces. My mom must have either found them at a yard sale or raised two older and more worthless sisters who were careless.
