Okay, some of my most vivid memories of the 70's, some of which I don't think have been mentioned. I remember things like the Brownies, Friendship beads, Sea Monkeys, Lava Lamps, Bean Bags, Pez... I also recall....

1) The death of Elvis. I remember it vividly- everywhere you went people were so sad and it was on the news for what seemed like months.

2) Gerald Ford running for President and coming to our small town. It is funny that I can remember that so vividly too. The thing I remember was that there were stock tanks filled with ice and *free* cans of soda. What a thing to remember! LOL

3) Dorothy Hammill- She was the "it" girl and all the ladies in my family got the "Dorothy Hammill haircut". Farrah Faucett too, of course.

4) Harlem Globe Trotters- My brother was a huge fan. His room was all HGT paraphernalia.

5) Bands- Kool and the Gang, KISS, Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship, Kansas, Styx, (all of which my parents took us to see), also Sonny and Cher, Barry Manilow, Jackson Five, Bette Midler, etc...

6) Movies- Jaws, Star Wars, Grease, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, any James Bond, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Rocky, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pippi Longstocking (still remember the music from both), Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, Oh God, Smokey and the Bandit, Every Which Way But Loose (Many others that I was too young to see).

7) TV Shows- I always begged my parents to let me stay up for Love American Style. They never would allow me to watch it, much to my disappointment over what I was missing. The same went for Benny Hill. My brother and my cousins were HUGE Dukes of Hazard fans, another thing the house was filled with paraphernalia for. Some of my faves- Facts of Life (wanted Blair's hair *so* bad!), Different Strokes, One Day at a Time, Alice, Laverne and Shirley, Three's Company, Happy Days, Eight is Enough, Hee Haw. My parents loved M*A*S*H, Dallas, All in the Family, Beretta, CHIPS, Starsky and Hutch.

8) Games- Lite Brite, Monopoly, Battleship, UNO, Easy Bake Oven, life-size dolls and hair styling heads, Donnie and Marie dolls, Barbie (of course).

9) The fashion- that sort of speak for itself, LOL.
