Chapter 1

The first thing I knew that day is that I was headed for trouble, because my master was putting my painful chain around my neck which he used on fighting days. I pulled on the horrid chain but he hit me with all his might with a mighty stick that sent pain all down my body. He threw me into a stone crate he slammed the cage shut and closed the tailgate and off we went to that old barn where my master’s gang did their dog fighting. Soon we got there and the first thing I heard was the vicious snarling of Gunner, the bulldog. He was small but I had seen dogs die under his mighty jaws, and today it was my turn. My master told me “Dog you better win this or you’ll either die under Gunner or under my gun!” Soon the chain was handed to the ring master and I was put in my metal cage. I trembled as I heard the ringmaster say “Today we have a vicious battle between the killers, Gunner and Fang! Bring them out boys!” Me and Gunner were brought out in the arena. I was handed to a man on the opposite side of the arena. “Scared?” asked the vicious bulldog “Not one bit” I lied. One minute seemed like one second as I was kicked and hit, as they did to make the dogs angry. Boy did it make me angry but it also made me more scared. Soon I heard them countdown “Three…Two…ONE!!!” Then we were released, Gunner came right at me but I dodged his mighty blow. I jumped on his back and bit him on the shoulder. He shook me off and bit down hard on my leg. I let out a howl of pain and reached up with my head and gripped my teeth between his eyes. Gunner snarled and gripped my throat with his jaws and I knew it was the end.

Short chapter but is it good?

Chapter 2

The sounds of yelling were starting to become silent when Gunner raised his head for some reason. That gave me my chance I jumped up and charged out of the barn breathing through blood gushing from my throat. I soon got to the woods and realized that Gunner and fifty men were behind me. I bolted through tree and bushes and soon came to a river. I heard yelling of the men behind me said a silent prayer and leaped in. The water was blood freezing cold, but I made it across but only to be shot in the leg. I yelped and ran off limping horribly. But then came another obstacle, a two-hundred foot slope. I ran down the slope and when I reached the bottom I looked up and saw my master standing there and then he lost his balance and tumbled down the hill hitting his head on every rock. Finally he stopped tumbling and lay still on the ground. I limped over to where he lay and whimpered pushing him with my nose. I knew he had beaten me and choked me but he was still my master and I had to have some respect. I lied down beside him and rested my head on his neck. I knew he was dead, so there I sat for the rest of the night and in the morning before the men came to get him I got up and limped away almost every step looking back. I sat close by in the bushes as four men came and wrapped my master up and put him in the back of a truck to go and be buried at the local church graveyard.

Again what do you guys think?

Chapter 3
I limped off toward Blue Wolf Canyon when I heard yelling and snarling behind me I looked back to see men coming after me I started running but I was weak and they soon caught up with me. I was thrown into a cage and lifted into a wagon when I heard a man say “Send ‘m to Russell he knows how to tame dogs like this one”. Soon the wagon was moving and I was starting a very rough adventure. After a few hours I was brought to a house with a decent sized yard with a young man, Russell, standing on the porch “What you got for me this time boys?” he asked as he started walking toward the wagon. “I killer that dang dog is! Him killed his owner!” the young man walked to the back of the wagon where I was. I started snarling ferociously at the man. “Put ‘m in the yard” The men acted like servants and lifted my cage with me snarling like crazy. Soon I was released I leaped at Russell instantly but I felt horrible pain on my chest for he had a club. I snarled and leaped again knowing no precautions. I felt the club come again me every time I leaped. Soon I was exhausted and frothing at the mouth. “You done dog?” asked Russell. I snarled in replied and leaped again but this time I got slammed in the head with the club. I fell with a thud but then I got kicked across the yard but used the rest of my strength to leap a final time and I did get a good grip because he had turned his back. I got a grip on his neck he fought and I fought he hit me I bit him. He jumped away so did I, but he always charged for his club, which was behind me, I bit his hand a tore a muscle but he got to his club and hit me over the head with the power of a lion, and it all went black.

Finally finished 3rd chapter

This story seems a lot like a mixture between Jack Londons books "White Fang" and "Call of the Wild". Did you get the idea from them?
