Hi - I'm from Hockley, TX - approx. 40 miles Northwest of the Houston area. I've been raising chickens for a few years now - for pleasure and the eggs. I'm happy to have found this group and look forward to learning and contributing when able - and enjoy reading everyones posts. Chick-Chick
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS ALREADY WELCOMED ME - I feel right @ home. I found this "template" and thought I would add it along with my Introduction
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I'm not new - as I stated above, I've had chickens for a few years how. We had chickens on our farm when I was younger.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Right now I have 4 hens, 3 "roos", 1 turkey (hen) and 1 Emu (which I think is a female-but not sure)
(3) What breeds do you have? I'm not exactly sure anymore. I like the more exotic breeds that lay colored eggs.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? I accidentally stumbled upon it while surfing the net.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? We have other animals - 1 goat, 2 Llamas, 3 pigs, 3 Koi fish, 2 dogs and 1 cat. I love to garden, ride motorcycles and I'm a socialite.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I think I've just about covered everything that might be of any interest to anyone here.
