Another tragedy in CA

That's what I say, those poor kids. The suicide note has been released now, and apparently he and his wife decided to do this together!!! What could be that bad????

Why oh why do people have to do this to their children ......the same thing happened to a pupil at my son's school last summer...the father shot the daughter (point blank in the head while she was on the internet chatting to friends, shot the mother (wife)..shot the dogs, the horses, burnt out the cars, then set fire to the mansion, then killed himself...all over money!! He had been living a lifestyle he could no longer maintain, he could not afford the next set of school fees...so killed them all.....WHY .... because he could not lose "face" with his "friends" ...belies belief....

I will pray for the children.....

How horrible it is that we have come to the point where our THINGS mean more to us than our own lives and our own lives!

Our society needs a good swift kick in the pants! Hopefully not too many more children will have to die to give it to us.

I've been thinking about this and I simply cannot relate. I mean, what thought process happens? "We may have to change our lifestyle and look for new jobs, so let's murder our children." ????!?!?!?!

Not wanting to start a big controversy or anything, but I once read a very long report on "familicide" and apparently the most common thread among men who kill their entire families is that they are most often devout Christians. The understanding among psycholgists and crime experts is that in general in Christianity there is a big "push or ideal" (not quite sure of the word I'm looking for) that the man is responsible for his family, and so when these men feel that they have failed in their responsibilities and failed their families, and failed God, the most merciful thing they can do is kill them all (I'm assuming with the belief that they'll all go to heaven together or something like that.).

Annmarie, I have read this too and have spoken to suicidal parents. The thought process is not logical but it has a logic. They feel that they are unable to cope and cannot fix the situation and they are responsible for their families and do not want to leave their families to fend in a harsh world alone. So, they take them with them. One mother told me she knew she would go to hell for suicide and murder, but knew her children, as innocent victims, would go to be with Jesus.

To them it is the last act of responsibility.

It makes you think....why? How could this be prevented etc....whats this teaching others......very sad....no one will ever know...

What kind of life had these parents come from that they could not bare the thoughts of their children having to live?
and remember the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. money is just paper.

Lord help us all if we think we cant face friends
or family because we cant provide all the STUFFF...
what a sad world we live in.
Less is best,
I pray for this family.

Terrible stuff....how people put money above all else. Remember the stories of the great depression (it may be that we're heading in that direction) the men jumping from office buildings to their death. I could never understand that.
