Fellow California chicken tenders...how do you control flies? I tried a fly trap, which works but smells awful. I've read some posts here saying PT Alpine is good, but sadly it's not available to buy here nor can I find any place to order it online that will ship it to CA.

Any recommendations for an alternative?

Bug zappers are great because while they are marketed for mosquitos they don't actually work on those much, but they do well for flies and moths and when zapped you now have a little chicken treat.

I like to take those fly traps and fill with water and chicken poop. The smell isn't as bad as the storebought bait. Then dump into compost and restart.

We also use barn lime and have fans set up which also help in certain areas.

I have a bug zapper! I thought they only worked at night though, and everything I've read online said they don't work on flies. Worth a try though.

Great idea about self-baiting the fly traps, will definitely give that a try.
