Pretty sure the grey ones are runners because of how they stand. And probably chocolate.

I can hear the beginnings of quacks from 4 of them. I’ve known the Welsh are females based on their pink bills as hatchlings. The Appleyard’s voice has been cracking very obviously before every peep for a week now and one of the runners’ sounds like her voice is starting to do the same.

They have been in a pen next to the big ducks for a few weeks now. I started letting them into the big run during the day yesterday. They have a little dog house with a regular incandescent bulb in their baby pen so they will return there at night until their feathers are in. Rhonda the Rouen wants to mother them but I don’t know that she would actually keep them warm enough with the rain we’re getting.

I was kind of waiting until the girls start quacking to name them. My kids named our buff Clancy and the rouen is Rhonda.

Seeing if I can imprint them. The appleyard still had an egg tooth yesterday. Like my ducklace? Lol
