Another way to utilize manure

Been putting big pieces of cardboard under the roosts. When a thick layer of droppings accumulates, I put the cardboard around fruit trees, with mulch on top to make it look presentable and to keep it from blowing away. The cardboard suppresses weeds and the manure fertilizes. (Before anyone says that chicken manure is too "hot", it isn't if you just leave it on the surface rather than digging it in.)
 
LOVE the idea! By the time the cardboard breaks down the fertilizer will be ready.

Great idea....we have wood boards under the roost now so the cardboard can just sit on top. Makes for quick cleaning.
