Another Way to Water Chickens

In response to ferngully:
I know the problem you are speaking of concerning the thin gauge of the plastic in a two liter bottle. I had a problem with the tension on the spring increasing the pressure by pushing the plastic inward and causing the nipple to drip. With the spring removed there was no drip. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you overcome it? I saw a post about using a clothes hanger wire and I was thinking this might help since there is no inward pressure on the bottle, just sort of a cradling effect.

I found a dog waterer that has a base that, when looking down on it resembles the figure "8". One side is open to allow the dog to drink out of it and the other side has a cover with a hole in it about 4" in diameter. It came with a plastic bottle that held 1 gallon of water, but I got a "polar water" bottle (5 gallon) and it works great! The waterer originally cost about 6.95 and the polar water bottle was free. I just asked the polar water delivery guy if I could have a couple of them and he handed them to me!
