Now, if I may ask the same question on the different types of Corturnix (or are they relatively the same?)
Available around here are
Japanese, Texas A&M, Pharoh, Jumbo, ??? others you may want to include in this research?

Age of maturity –
Age begin laying eggs
# of eggs per year
Age to eating size
Weight at # age

Ya'll are the greatest!

There are NO white meat coturnix, it really doesn't matter what color you get just the size of the birds. Does that help?

TRUE BUT I THINK IT MEANT THEY ARE BEST FOR MEAT AS IN QUANTITY OF MEAT PER CARCASS? LEAST WAYS THATS HOW I READ IT... AND THAT WOULD BE CORRECT IN MOST CASES ALTHOUGH ALMOST ANY COLORATION IS AVAILABLE NOW IN JUMBO SIZES. BUT AS FAR AS SHEER SIZE AS RELATED TO COLOR I DO SEE LARGER BIRDS IN HIGHER NUMBERS IN BROWN AND WHITE (A&M) THAN OTHER COLORS.

What is the size difference between the jumbo and regular coturnix?
Do they mature at the same rate? for eggs and meat?

Thanks guys! This has been hugely educational!
