They are smart, slugs are nasty and can carry parasites that will infect the chickens.

I'll feed them leftovers of chicken, turkey, beef, pork, whatever. They got a whole ham bone once after it got spoiled. They loved it. Chickens are not vegan and trying to make them be such is just silly. Let them out for any amount of time, and they'll wolf down grasshoppers, worms, and even mice, occasionally.

I feed them whatever we had for dinner, usually just a few scraps but that includes meats, like chicken. I don't know if they get all the nutrients they need from leftovers, so I also supplement with calcium, kelp, alfalfa and various grass sprouts.

I'm the same as @BantyChooks, mine get all types of leftover meats, fish, and veggies. We have a bad habit of buying deli meats and letting them sit a little too long. If they get a little slimy the birds get it.

Eggs I can see. My house you won’t find leftover meat just veggies.

See it's opposite with my kids. They love veggies and won't leave a pea behind but will leave half their burger on the plate.

So funny! I would reduce their portions of meat might save on the grocery bill. Nothing wrong with veggies.

I once was trying to peel peaches and give to my chicks the peelings. As I was peeling my husband was eating them. Nothing much for the chicks. He wastes nothing if he can help it.

Chickens are omnivores. I don't feed them meat, they find if themslves, mostly mice here.

I voted yes. Technically I think bugs count as meat. And we all know how much chickens love mealworms lol. I first started with a no meat policy, but my chickens would attack our outdoor bbq pit trying to steal our dinner! Something about barbecue sauce drives them crazy. They are just like their mama lol. I do however limit how much they get. It's a very rare treat for them.
