Ant control?

I'm making a larger duck pen and the area I'm putting the bedding has a ton of red ants. Is there anything safe to use to kill the ants that won't hurt my ducks? Thanks.

It's not in the bedding it's a nest in the dirt right next to where I want to put there bedding..

I'm not really sure. I would like to as soon as possible. They have way outgrown their current pen. I'm thinking as soon the ants are gone..

you can make a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar, i believe that once it dries it's safe

Oh that's great. I have a couple gallons of vinegar already that I use for cleaning. Food grade. Thanks again so much for the help.

let us know if that works...I have tons of little argentinian black ants that I'm ready to go nuclear on... they got into my brooder attacking pipping babies!

Are you certain the ants are causing harm? I not, then invest effort in other things.
