Ant control

We’ve had tons of rain the last few weeks, more on the way, and my coop is over run with ants. Will DE help? Looking for something natural.

Thanks!
It worked for me. I had a broody back in June that decided to nest in the coop. Close to hatch I noticed ants were all in the litter and under her. I dusted with DE and ants were gone. I believe for it to work best it needs to be dry so as long as your coop doesn't get wet or flooded then it should work for you.

Thank you so much! I’ve sprayed them out with water. Once it dries, I’ll try it out. With cedar shavings. Our straw is damp and will be going into the garden now.

Be generous with it , and I would use pine shavings. I've been told Cedar can be toxic to chickens, but if that's your regular and you have no issues then do what you think is best for your birds.:)

TERRO....get TERRO.
You can get the gel or sprinkles or the traps. It may not seem to work at first...as they carry the bait back to their nests....but it does seriously reduce and get rid of them. I'm not sure about putting it directly into the coops....maybe the traps in corners, but definitely put it around the perimeter of your coop.

Is that all natural?

I use Ground Cinnamon around my front porch where I feed two small semi feral cats(They let pet them, just me.) I haven't tried it around Chickens yet. Nobody's said if it's safe or not, then again my chickens usually eat them anyway.
