I would love to know about Borax too! I have a huge number of ants in my coop run. I am wondering if it is because my chickens are broody so the run is pretty much empty ALL the time. I hate the ants, they give me the heebeejeebees! Plus, I am looking to give my broodiest hen some chicks next week and would like to get rid of the ants for the babies.

I've used Borax, too, and it did absolutely NOTHING for my ants. I have fire ants (Alabama) and another smaller kind (that also bites). I use the terro traps, placing it over the spot where I see the most ants and putting a block over it. My chickens don't even appear to notice these traps and the ants are soon gone. Go ahead and give the borax a try, it's cheap enough, but it didn't work for me.
