Anti-parasite

I got 3 baby chicks yesterday. I noticed some pecking on them, At what age can i use anti-parasite powder on them (for lice, mites etc)? Is there something else that i can do?

They may be pecking at each other to assist with removing the fuzz to allow feather to grow. My 7 week-olds preen each other.
