Did anyone use Medicated Chick Feed? For how long? I used it for four months.

And how long of an interval is nescesary between taking the chickens off of the medicated feed and eating the first egg?

Depends what it is medicated with. Usually it is amprolium, which is not an antibiotic, and has no withdrawal; you can feed it and eat the eggs at the same time. Amprolium inhibits thiamine uptake which controls the prevalence of cocci in the bird. This in turn allows the bird to build a natural immunity. Yes, many of us use it. Most on here do not choose to use feed which has an actual antibiotic in it.

I used Medicated feed (with amprolium) for their first 18 weeks. Then I ran out of feed and figured they were close to laying, so I just bought Layena at that point. They started laying at 19.5 weeks and we've eaten all the eggs
