I'v started my hen on pen-g, and it says to keep it refrigerated, but it has to be room temp to use, so i have a dumb question but I just want to make sure. Is it ok to leave it out till her treatments are done(5 days or so) or do I need to keep it in the frig and get it out everyday and wait for it to come up to room temps? I just want to be on the safe side before i do anything. thanks yall

If you get the bubbles up to the tip, then inject the whole dose back into the bottle quickly, then draw it up a second time, you should get rid of the bubbles.

ok i'll try that, thanks so much orpingtonmanor you've helped me out alot the last 2 days, i appreciate it so much.
I chickened out and made my hubby give the shot yeasterday while i held her, and she did very good not a peep. today the first shot went bad and she bit him, he said he did it to slow, but second try, again not a peep she was very good,I'm thinkin about trying it , he said it is easy, and goes in easy. I should really learn how. anyways thanks so much for all your advice.

Good that you have help! You said that your husband went slow. Do you mean he injected the antibiotic slowly, or that he inserted the needle slowly? I'm not sure if you saw it, but I posted a "how to" on injections at the end of your thread yesterday. The short of it is, Dart the needle in quickly, Aspirate for blood, Inject the drug slowly.

You can do it!

I think he inserted the needle a little to slowly tonight, and she bit him, so he re-did it quicky and she did fine, i read the how to inject articles and i walk him though drawing it back for blood and slowly injecting it.I might try it tomarrow i'm just scared I'll "dart" her to far or to hard.
