1. Are there any antibiotics that don’t require egg withdrawal?

2. What antibiotics have the shortest withdrawal period, or are they all the same?

According to the FDA all antibiotics require the same withdrawl period. This is to avoid "antibiotic residue" in the eggs.

There are a lot of infections that can be cured easily and safely with homeopathic treatment. What do you need the antibiotic for? If it's bumblefoot, please take a look at my post here:

If it's respiratory, could you give some details about the symptoms, because Hepar sulph. (excellent for bumblefoot) doesn't work as well for respiratory illnesses, but maybe I can suggest something else.

Many of the common respiratory diseases are caused by viruses, and antibiotics will not help. The common ones are infectious bronchitis, infectious laryngo tracheitis or ILT, and some other lesser know ones. Viruses will have to run their course over severalmweeks. For mycoplasma or MG, the best ones are Tylan (tylosin,) tetracycline, doxycycline, and enrofloxacin. For coryza, sulfa antibiotics are usually prescribed by a vet. Many of the diseases listed can cause your entire flock to be carriers whether or not they get sick. You can read about those diseases and their symptoms here:

It can be hard to tell one disease from another without testing or a necropsy done after death, although listing all symptoms you are seeing may help.

Difficult, but doable. As I was saying, all the tiniest details that you could think of could mean a major break in the case. There are six, seven things that we can throw at them, one of them would surely stick, and we could actually do that, because they are very very cheap, but I don't like doing sub par work, so if you could give me details about the symptoms (is there a smell, or how did this all start, was it rains, was it a cold wind, who are the sufferers, any turkeys, once the simple fact that there was a turkey in the group unraveled the case).

Thanks. For MG, are there certain antibiotics that have less than 2 weeks of withdrawal period? I just hate throwing out eggs, which was the point of this post. I don't have any sick chickens at the moment.

Not positive, but I think soluble tylosin has a zero day egg withdrawal. I was wrong, it has a withdrawal.

All are different, and some, like Baytril and metronidazole, aren't supposed to be used in poultry.

In the UK, I think tiamulin (Denagard) has a zero day withdrawal. In other countries, I think oxytetracyline also has a zero day withdrawal.
