Antique Incubator

I have one that is the same, and i use it as a Coffee Table in a Bed and Breakfast. Sure would love to see it working but I'm just not that creative to repair or inovatively adapt it....

I'll get the hang of this sooner or later.

I just joined BYC. My knee-jerk response upon seeing this was something on the line of OMG!! I WANT IT!!

I realize your post is about two years old. Just in the hope that you might get this response, please tell me what you have done with it. I would love to know. Thank You!

I actually picked up a number 5 at an Amish auction this weekend. I would love to restore it. Mine is in very similar shape to the original poster's, except it's missing the platform below the water container.

I have a # 6 in perfect working order. you unfortinetly are missing some major parts for it to be a functing incubator. as for making it a kitchen table, choping block or any other item besides what it was made for would be a shame. I have the original operaters manual that came with it in 1894. It is very fraggile but i have managed to scan it and now have it on my computer and if you send me your e-mail i would be glad to share it with you. The #6 was my second antique incubator and now i have four. i would say that the successful #6 incubator is my pride and joy.My others are a Buckeye 14E and a keystone state and my first is a Favorite incubator [ electric] which will hold four hundred eggs at a time. That one i use twice a year and only incubate no more than thirty at a time. Great finding others who enjoy the beauty of true craftsmanship that our ancesstors had.

Howdy! I have a "6" too that I am restoring! It has some parts but not all! I would LOVE to have a copy of the manual if possible! My email is: [email protected] I also have an "Old Trusty" incubator too. I use that one in the kitchen for a microwave table! Thank You very much!!! Mike Cherney
