I got my MIL an antique photograph for Christmas, and was wondering if anyone knows how to track down signatures. It would be really interesting to find out who took it, I believe it was taken in 1913.

It's just the initials, and I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

The initials are 'FE', which is real fun doing a Google search as I get the details of every photographer in Santa Fe... which is a lot. The photo appears to be of someone famous at the time, we thought it was Tom Mix but on closer inspection it probably isn't.

I'm not entirely sure it was taken in 1913, it has '13' below the signature and to me it looks to be of that period, but i'll see if I can get a good picture of it and see what you guys think.

It came from an abandoned house in PA, but it is western in theme.

It would be really cool if you can find it, but I am guessing you have your hands full. I would see if you can post it on here and see if anyone will recognize the style. Some of the the folks that have been in exhibition poultry for a long time may just recognize it. If anyone would know it would be Neil Grassbaugh. He is a topnotch poultry photographer of our time. I would also check with the folks at Poultry Press. They have been around for a long time. Bob Blosl would be another to reach out to.

I love those old photo's
